World's first floating nuclear power plant sails to Far East Russia
World's first floating nuclear power plant Akademik Lomonosov left the Russian port city of Murmansk after the official ceremony, as shown on footage released on Friday. The Russian floating plant embarked on a 5,000-kilometer (3,100-mile) journey along the Northern Sea Route until it reaches Chukotka in Russia's Far East, where the plant will begin producing energy as the world's northernmost nuclear power station.
