6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Albania, At Least 8 Dead and Hundreds Injured
A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Albania early on Tuesday, the largest to hit the country in decades, leaving at least eight people dead, several missing and more than 300 injured, officials said. The earthquake hit just before 4 a.m. as most people were sleeping. Its epicenter was about 19 miles west of the capital of Tirana, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
