Ahmadinejad snubbed by Ayatollahs, attacked by Basiji (militia)
During Ahmadinejad's visit to Shiraz on Monday, four Senior Ayatollahs (Islamic clerics) left the event before performance of traditional Persian music and lecture by Ahmadinejad. It is unknown whether their objection was to the music or to Ahmadinejad.
Also, during Ahmadinejad's speech, a middle-aged man who introduced himself as one of those at "The bottom of streets" (expression meaning poor, used by pro-government militia and Basijis to describe themselves) interrupted Ahmadinejad's speech and complained about lack of justice but his speech was not audible because the Iranian TV added a voice over after a few seconds (Persian summary of man's objection in Kodoom.com's Persian page):
Ahmadinejad came to power with strong support by conservative clerics and militia (Basijis).
