Sadeq Tabrizi commemorated by Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art
TEHRAN – A number of artists and friends came together at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) on Thursday to commemorate Sadeq Tabrizi, a pioneer of calligraphic-painting in Iran who died at 79 in London in early January. Tabrizi was an influential figure in the formation of the Saqqakhaneh School, a neo-traditional style of art that derives inspiration from Iranian folk art and culture. Speaking at the meeting, Visual Arts Office director Majid Mollanoruzi called Tabrizi an accomplished figure in the history of Iranian art. ...
