He developed the strategy and business plan to expand Sprint globally, and built and launched Sprint’s wholly owned network and operations worldwide.
Prior to Sprint, he was the COO of Primus Telecom, a global communications provider. Mr. Javadi was part of the group that built Primus from inception to grow to over a $1b enterprise. Prior to Primus he was President of a new venture in wireless messaging and asset tracking at GE-Capital, and before that, was the head of international marketing for MCI, the second largest long distance service provider in the US.
Mr. Javadi about the key reasons for his success says: "I would say that there are two key challenges that I have seen over many years. One is in the high-technology space: how to deal with the fast pace of change and product innovation. And the lesson out of that for me has been to [keep] a very sharp eye toward pushing development and staying ahead. The second challenge has been in more mature markets such as the telephone market, which has faced significant price erosion, and what I have done in that respect has been to consolidate businesses and integrate different operations to achieve size, scale and efficiency. So having the background of both growing businesses organically as well as growing businesses through mergers and acquisitions gives me a complete perspective as I look ahead."
