We will gather for the birthday of the Sufi mystic poet Rumi– the world’s most beloved poet. As a child Rumi was forced to leave his homeland in present-day Afghanistan to escape the Mongol invasion, finally landing in Turkey. His poems convey the immediacy of the presence of Divine Love, the foundational teaching of the Sufi path.
Please join us for an evening of Magical incantations and instrumentation inspired by Rumi's verses with Persian and Sufi music from the Ottoman and Persian regions.
